I am not a fan of purchasing new guitars...Buying used is always, always, always a better deal. Most of the time a used guitar will be set up better and even come with a case and of course at a reduced price. With that said, I hung out at my local GC today and ended up in the acoustic room....I usually dont go in there, but today, I was feeling the "unplugged-vibe". I immediately noticed the "red" Ovation thinbody Celebrity. As soon as I picked it up, I truly fell in love with it's sound and feel. An elderly gentleman came in and said he had to see where the rich, big tone...and "nice picking":) was coming from. When he saw the Ovation, he said, "Wow...I have never liked those plastic bodies, but that sounds beautiful...and loud!" I was like, "I know... and the only reason I picked it up was because it was red..LOL"

I sat in that room for at least 1/2 hour and really felt like I was actually playing better on that guitar, than any acoustic I have ever put my hands on. I finally convinced myself that I didn't need a case-less $399 acoustic, although the price was very doable.

I am back home now, and really contemplating going back and grabbing that amazing MIC guitar. I wish they had the red Yngwie Viper there, although...I would have had an even harder time walking away and that one is much pricier.

    I need some Gas-X now:(

The thing played and felt like an electric, yet had a big, bright acoustic punch! I literally am going round and round about going back to get it..

I've only ever bought one used guitar and that was from a friend. I went with him when he bought it, gave him a few lessons and he didn't take to music so I bought it from him. Other than that I prefer them brand new, with warranty and mine all mine.

But go... get it... it calls to you. It calls to yooooouuuu...

Playing my Ovation Yngwie model tonight! Love that guitar!

You know Tavo got the red one now right? He burns through gear too. Maybe he’ll give you a deal in it when he’s done! :)

Had an Ovation back in the 70s, sounded and felt great. Wish I'd never sold it.

Every so often an Ovation catches my eye and I think about getting one. It usually doesn't last long, but then threads like this come up, and I start thinking about it again . . . and I'm supposed to be downsizing my stuff in preparation for retirement . . . that includes music gear. Must . . . resist.

I always buy new through ams. I have child support and bills and never have an extra thousand+ dollars I can just spend.....small monthly payments though....sure I’ll do that.

I was thinking the same thing. A guitar is a much happier story.
