A nice addition to the heard of " Special Editions " harps that I have .
I was excited for you. Then I saw the harp. I'm excited for you HHD!
I've wanted to learn to play the harmonica/harp for a long time. Funny they used the same name as the organ from the 60s.
I had one for a little while, broke and wasnt worth fixing.
Kool, Congrads, Who doesnt love a harmonica
Move over Neil Young!
Great - now you'll have to learn to play it with "British Spirit"
They are always worth fixing! This thread made me remember that my brother fixed both of my Vox organs (albeit Jaguars not Continentals) as an early isolation project about a month or so ago. His practice now is to make a youtube video of his projects so he can remember what he did in the future.
The pic above of the Continental on its Z stand is missing the cross supports which are essential to prevent lateral slipping from side to side. You can see the top of the supports on the back of the one Lennon is playing in the photo.
I've been hoping and waiting for a Neil Young tribute for a long time ......
Congratulations, didn’t know they made harps
VOX use to advertise on there web-sight but I did not see them on there lately .Found it on Reverb . Not only do I enjoy playing but I also enjoy collecting " special editions "
I have the ...
Seydel Golden Anniv 1847 ONE70
I found a guy in Connecticut who inherited his uncles store ( he actually came from my area ) He found a box of NOS Harmonicas tuck away in the clutter . I bought a Hohner double sided Comet from him , never played . I don't play it or any of the special editions
Congratulations on the new harmonica.
I did not know Vox make harmonicas, I thought they only were on electric/tronic gear, amazing.
I bought the Type 1 (Green), A key. Very cool and I like it. They're hard to find, I guess. I only found it at Main Stage Music, and that ended up being a less than satisfactory experience. The harp arrived in a paper envelope and the case had been crushed. The harp itself was okay, but for what I paid, they could have taken some care. I called and they acted like it was no big deal.
I use it some of the time, but Special 20s seem to be my thing.
@thunder58 I have been wanting that same list of signature harps for a long time. Nice collection!
Mine too although Blues harps were my favorite for a long time . I'm at work . When I get home later I'll PM you some photos of my harps and a story I wrote for SPAH
Vox organs and harmonicas were both likely made in Italy, along with their guitars. Never knew Vox had a mouth harp line. Most combo organs, like the Farfisa and others, came from Italy and were based on electronic accordions. Harmonicas and organs stem from the same roots.
Sorry @wabash slim , the proof is in the print
Well , what are you waiting for ......
I'm waiting for that same conservative voice in my head to shut up - it's the one telling me to wait for a G5420T or a G5410T Rat Rod until I see how the economy is going to go!
