Got to thinking..... I would like to know the age group you belong in.
Can we determine what is the "average" age of Gretsch enthusiasts?
If you are willing to play along, I, and I'm sure others would appreciate the random usless trivial information we might gain from this post. Please use the survey, and post if you like.

    I'll start.
I am 47 years old. I bought my first Gretsch in my 40's.

I'm 49, or as my better half likes to point out, "In your 50th year and born in a whole different decade than me." I was born in 68 she was born in 70.

By major events, I remember very well where I was when John Lennon was killed.
    Ali-Spinks.
    The day Elvis died.
I kind of recall Carter being elected and the 1976 olympics.
    The six-wheel Formula 1 car.
    Jaws.
    Saigon.
    The Thrilla in Manila.

I remember the Winnipeg Jets winning their second and their third and the final Avco cup, the first one is a bit hazy.

Personally I remember some things that happened in '74 [such as buildings being built].

I'll be 76 next month. Saw Elvis' first TV appearance while I was watching the Dorsey Bros TV show. I was 15 and thought "what the h*** is that". Suddenly seemed like that new music called Rock & Roll might be the way to go, so I switched from trumpet to guitar (also because Scotty Moore was cool). Got my first Gretsch in 1963, the Country Gent in my avatar that was taken in 1966.
