Hi Gretschers! As some of you know, I hail from COVID-19-stricken Spain. This is no joke, my friends! I've had relatives in hospital, people are dying (3 so far) in the old people's home just in front of my house (where the army comes regularly to disinfect the premises) and half the staff is infected, my drummer's sister and my bass player's father-in-law have died... more than 12.000 deaths so far, hundreds of thousand (if not millions) must be infected...a veritable catastrophe. Please take lots of care and let's focus on the good things life has to offer, like MUSIC! A few weeks ago I shared this video with you : Many of you liked it (thanks for that!) and many more watched it. I've always been fond of this forum for its good atmosphere and for the musical knowledge of most of its members. This is why I would like you to help me find a name for my first album with fellow guitarist Kid Carlos Moreno. Style? Basically American music, from Ragtime to Blues, from Swing to Bluegrass, from Soul to Be-Bop. We have used several string instruments (acoustic & electric guitars, resonator, bluegrass banjo, ukelele,...). But we have also included some "manouche" numbers like this live rendition (with a Baroque ending!) of Minor Swing: I hope you get the picture... The cover for the album (not ready yet) will be based on this famous painting by Goya, one of the most international Spanish painters of all times: Painted around 1820 and under the title fight with cudgels, it depicts two men fighting one another with clubs, as they seem to be trapped knee-deep in a quagmire of mud or sand. For our cover, it will be my partner in musical crime and me who will be trying to hit each other but with electric guitars as weapons instead of with cudgels. Although my English is OK, I'm not a native speaker and many times I miss some of the nuances of the language. Therefore, dear forum friends, I am calling on you to help me find a good title for the album. I'm aware that something like Fighting/Feuding Guitars is hackneyed, and I couldn't get any further than that. I will gratefuly send the "winner" a physical copy of the album once it's printed, but I'm afraid this is going to take much longer than expected owing to the current pandemic. Again, thanks so much in advance and stay healthy! Salud! EDIT: I will send the album in mp3 format to all of you guys if you give me an email/FB. Again, this will still take time. Muchas gracias!
