    Hi Gretschers!

As some of you know, I hail from COVID-19-stricken Spain. This is no joke, my friends! I've had relatives in hospital, people are dying (3 so far) in the old people's home just in front of my house (where the army comes regularly to disinfect the premises) and half the staff is infected, my drummer's sister and my bass player's father-in-law have died... more than 12.000 deaths so far, hundreds of thousand (if not millions) must be infected...a veritable catastrophe. Please take lots of care and let's focus on the good things life has to offer, like MUSIC!

A few weeks ago I shared this video with you :

Many of you liked it (thanks for that!) and many more watched it. I've always been fond of this forum for its good atmosphere and for the musical knowledge of most of its members. This is why I would like you to help me find a name for my first album with fellow guitarist Kid Carlos Moreno.

Style? Basically American music, from Ragtime to Blues, from Swing to Bluegrass, from Soul to Be-Bop. We have used several string instruments (acoustic & electric guitars, resonator, bluegrass banjo, ukelele,...). But we have also included some "manouche" numbers like this live rendition (with a Baroque ending!) of Minor Swing:

I hope you get the picture... The cover for the album (not ready yet) will be based on this famous painting by Goya, one of the most international Spanish painters of all times:

Painted around 1820 and under the title fight with cudgels, it depicts two men fighting one another with clubs, as they seem to be trapped knee-deep in a quagmire of mud or sand. For our cover, it will be my partner in musical crime and me who will be trying to hit each other but with electric guitars as weapons instead of with cudgels. Although my English is OK, I'm not a native speaker and many times I miss some of the nuances of the language.

Therefore, dear forum friends, I am calling on you to help me find a good title for the album. I'm aware that something like Fighting/Feuding Guitars is hackneyed, and I couldn't get any further than that.

I will gratefuly send the "winner" a physical copy of the album once it's printed, but I'm afraid this is going to take much longer than expected owing to the current pandemic.

Again, thanks so much in advance and stay healthy! Salud!

EDIT: I will send the album in mp3 format to all of you guys if you give me an email/FB. Again, this will still take time. Muchas gracias!

Great playin' and a great picture. Why not name it "Dueling Guitars" - along the lines of the song "Dueling Banjos", whose original title was "Feudin' Banjos".

I find the matching 335's hilarious. I dunno if you get the same commercial sale pitches on TV, so this may not translate...

however this may be the first incentive to which I will sit up & pay attention when next during commercials they say, "order now & we'll include a 2nd one absolutely free!"

    A Gibson BOGO?
    Dopplegaengers.

That's an inspired parody cover! A flashback to the great old LP illustrations.

Title?: "Swing It Like You Mean It?"
Maybe just "Cudgel?" If it goes onto a CD (do people do that much anymore?) & the illustration is good –– don't want to clutter it up with excess text on a cover the size of a CD.

Sorry to hear about you friends & acquaintances.

I like that. Perhaps to save space on the album "Swing it" in larger letters then "like you mean it" in smaller font. Has so many connotations with the picture you describe.

Loved the playing. Very well done!

Really need to mock up the title options once the painting is complete & live with it a few days, I think.

    "Double Trouble" is pretty good.
Not for me to say, but I do wonder if you're beating your audience over the head in a cute title ontop of the illustration/painting...

Changing to: Swinging Like We Mean It (?)

You shouldn't need to be G-rated politically correct in a piece of artwork,
but it does seem a little dark, despite a great idea.

Is there room for an involved title & the band's name both?
It is lamentable that album cover art has all but disappeared in CDs & now digital downloads.

Double Trouble was Stevie Ray Vaughan's band. The name's been used. So has Twin Sons of Different Mothers.
How about A Pair of Aces?

I wish you the best. I do love Manouche as well---your "Minor Swing" was well done!

You guys sound great! Django is a huge inspiration.

You could call it - Partners in crime or Brother against brother or beat you to it.

  11. Maybe throw every one off by calling 2. There by making them think they missed number 1. I am sorry to hear how bad things are in Spain. The reality of what to be hasn’t sunk in here yet and already the crabby ness has surfaced. I wish you two the best, and i really enjoyed the two tracks posted here. I have a gypsy jazz style guitar but i cant play like that on it.

    "Jazzed Up" might work.
Loosely linked to the painting, 2 excited guys (with guitars). But also corresponding to the music.

About the videos: your wife use a better detergent than his :p
