Long time lurker first time posting! I’m from San Diego and don’t quite own a Gretsch yet. Still haven’t decided on a new 5420t or to fork over some extra $ and treat myself to a Chet Atkins/Brian Setzer/ Reverend Horton Heat 6120. I’ve been playing guitar for 15 years and the upright bass throughout my time in high school and most recently college. The information on this site has been a wealth of knowledge and I hope that one day too I will be able to contribute.

Welcome on board from the UK. It's always good to see new members. The 5420 is a great guitar, but if it's a 6120 is on the market then go for the 6120 (if you can afford it). And let us have pics.

Not many gretsch guitars I don't like. You can't go wrong with a 5420 or 6120. Both are great guitars. Can't wait to see pictures of what you buy.
    Welcome to GT.

I would say, if you can swing it, get the 6120. If you can't afford it presently, the electromatic is a fine instrument ( that may have you gassing for a proline)

Go for the Pro Line if you can afford it. You won't be disappointed. Nothing against the also fine Electromatic series though.

    Welcome to G-T!
