Looking to sell my 2014 Hagstrom Super Swede Tremar in Wild Cherry Transparent. It's a great guitar, and very versatile: the solid mahogany body, maple cap, and Alnico humbuckers give it a fat Gibson-y sound, while the coil-tap switch and 25.5" scale length give it some Fender-esque chime. The build quality and fit & finish are excellent. Neck is thin and fast; action is nice and low. The tummy cut is a nice touch. The guitar sustains for days.

    Here are the specs:
    • Mahogany body with carved flame maple cap
    • Set neck
    • 25.5" scale length
    • 15" fretboard radius
    • GraphTech Tusq XL nut
    • Custom 58 AlNiCo humbucking pickups
    • 18:1 tuning keys
    • 22 medium jumbo frets
    • Coil-tap switch
    • Roller bridge
    • Tremar vibrato (like a Bigsby, but better!)
The colour is a little darker in person—more like a wine red.

$495 shipped to the lower 48 or Canada. Trade suggestions are welcome. I'd be interested in a Tele, Jazzmaster, or Jaguar, and of course I'm always interested in adding another Gretsch to the stable.

    Happy to answer any questions!

Thanks! They really are. IMHO, the Korean Electromatics are the only guitars in this price range that match the Hagstrom's build quality.

I notice you run your strings over the tension bar. Is the break angle too steep with them under the tension bar?
I’m curious about these super Swedes, but have never played a Hagstrom.
    Thanks.

Good eye! Yep, that's exactly it. I find that the break angle is too steep with the strings under the tension bar. It feels great with the strings over the bar.

Hagstroms seem to be a well-kept secret. They really punch above their weight, but not many stores seem to carry them.

MIC does not mean that an item should not look good or be of inferior quality. They have some skilled craftsmen there.

IMHO, Hagstroms are very under rated guitars. We never see these come in with major problems, set ups only. These are workhorse guitars that sing and play as well as they look. If we didn't already have a house full of guitars, I would be all over this. I had a Hagstrom when I was 15, and it never let me down for the 6 years I owned it. I foolishly sold it because my buddies convinced me that it was not cool in a punk band. I learned from that and told my kids to pick their friends wisely.

It weighs in at a healthy 9.6 pounds. (Hence the ridiculous sustain.)

Thanks. Good luck with the sale, these are indeed great guitars, and this is a steal of a price.
