I thought it might be interesting and fun to see any guitars that anyone’s named. Post em’ if you’ve named it.

Although these have been seen lately, I’ve never thought about naming until I got then together.

I’m thinking maybe Cinnamon, Salt, Peppa, and Sunny. You know, for when you need to add a little flavor or happiness into the mix.

And yes, I am now Gretschless until next year if you’ve noticed. I recently sold my 6118 with a neck heel finish crack just in case it developed into something else down the line. I may go with a 6228 or a Jet when the time comes. This means I’ve got to live through your Gretsch postings to get my fix for now. So post many, thanks. :)

I've named three for the women in my life---wife, daughter, and Mom. Most have a name on the headstock from the factory.

I have guitars and motorcycles and personally I find it amusing people often name them.

I guess I sort of name mine, as in red bike, silver bike, green guitar but I'm just being mentally lazy lol.

Never really thought about naming a guitar. If I had to? I dunno. Maybe Mister Guitar?

That’s how I refer to rooms in my house, don’t know why. I’ve got the Blue room, the Brown room, the Green room, etc. It’s funny watching guests pause after I say let me take you to the Green room or give a tour referring to each room by its color.

The only other thing I’ve named is whichever rifle I got issued on a deployment. I’d print the name with a label maker and put it right behind the charging handle on the butt stock.

I've never felt the need. They already have names, I just call them what the they are...Explorer, Falcon, Tele, Les Paul, Ric, Flying V, Death Dagger....seems to convey their "personality" just fine...

This is The Cardinal. Also known as Dorothy, in honour of my grandmother, my daughter (it's her middle name), and the ruby slippers.

Incidentally, a pair of actual cardinals moved into our yard this spring, and we've named them Stan (after Stan Musial) and Dorothy (after this guitar).

These two are still unnamed--and I've had the Gretsch almost a year. Nothing has jumped out at me.

I name my dogs but I don't name my guitars because they never come when I call them.
This custom-order Blue Belly guitar was named "La Strega" (The Witch) by the builder, Hyde Baker.

What kind of top is La Strega wearing? It looks like carbon fiber.

Yes, it's a carbon fiber overlay on a chambered spruce body. The carbon fiber was my request and it took some experimentation to find the right way to fix it to the top. Purely cosmetic because I wanted something out of the ordinary.
