This is the all new Players Edition G6118T-ISV from the Gretsch Professional Series! This guitar features a very cool two tone finish with Iridium Silver on top and Azure Metallic on the back and sides. This is a brand new finish from Gretsch and as unique as it is classy. An unbound rosewood fretboard and F Holes, chrome hardware and diamond anniversary head plate plaque round out the clean and classic Gretsch Anniversary model style.

Most places it sells for $2199

The goal of the Players Edition design was to create the ultimate working guitarists Gretsch that delivers classic tone and style while at the same time offering modern features to increase convenience and ergonomics. Gretsch has absolutely delivered and has set a new standard in modern arch top design. All Players Edition models feature the tried and true High Sensitive Filter'Tron pickups in the neck & bridge position. These pickups are true the original Filter’Tron design offering a huge variety of tones from clean and jazzy, to punchy twang. They handle high gain settings with style and work well with all varieties of distortion and overdrive pedals. H.S. Filter’Trons are known for their highly dynamic sound with robust and punchy lows, smooth and subdued midrange and articulated shimmering high frequencies. The Players Edition guitars also feature the modern “ML” bracing concept from Gretsch. The “ML” Bracing is a bit like the classic ’59 Trestle bracing but with a lower mass and more minimal design. The result of this is a guitar that has the sustain and feedback rejection characteristics of Trestle bracing, but with a livelier resonance lighter weight overall. Essentially, you get big hollow body tones with thinner body design without all the feedback common with a conventional hollow body design. The neck used on the Players Series is medium profile “U” shape with a 12” fretboard radius and medium jumbo frets. It’s a very comfortable neck with a great feel offering effortless playability. Another standard found on the Players series is a “treble bleed” circuit on the master volume control. This means the guitar retains the tone and presence when the volume is rolled off. With Gretsch guitars that feature traditional wiring, you’ll find a bit of tone roll-off when using the master volume control. Not so with the new Players Editions, the tone stays bright and true wherever the volume is set. The Players Edition hollow body models feature a host of other “player centric” features including a thinner 2.25” body, Schaller brand locking tuners & strap locks, pinned “rocking” bar bridge, reinforced output jack, GraphTech Tusq XL nut and No-Load tone pot. Restringing is also modernized and made much easier with the new String-Thru Bigsby design.

$2199 is the price from most retailers

    About the Guitar (from gretschguitars.com):

At the intersection of innovation and tribute you’ll find the G6118T Players Edition Anniversary with String-Thru Bigsby—a guitar that honors its inspirational past while remaining firmly rooted in the future of music. Engineered for optimum performance and responsiveness it reacts instantly to your every musical move, not just earning, but demanding a place in your sonic arsenal.

A pair of High Sensitive Filter’Tron humbucking pickups responds to every note dynamically—snarling or purring according to how hard you strike the strings. The control complement—separate bridge and neck volume controls, three-way pickup switching, no-load master tone and also a master volume—allows for near-infinite tonal variations. The all-new Gretsch “Squeezebox” paper-in-oil caps add smooth vintage tone while the treble bleed circuit lets your guitar retain all of its tasty clarity when rolling the volume control down. The standard “U”-shaped maple neck bears a 12”-radius rosewood fingerboard with 22 durable medium jumbo frets for a memorable playing experience that works with any fret-hand style. A pinned “rocking” bar bridge reacts in concert with the Bigsby B6CP vibrato tailpiece for stable tuning while the teflon-coated GraphTech TUSQ XL nut lets the strings slide freely, without binding in the slots. A thinner, 2.25” body provides maximum comfort during long sets while the innovative Gretsch “ML” bracing allows the guitar to retain that rich, full hollow body sound. In a uniquely Gretsch touch, the Bigsby tailpiece is now string-through, making it quicker (and easier) to change strings as well as providing increased vibration transfer for enhanced sustain.

A finely tuned modern music machine, this 2-tone guitar features a unique Iridium Silver finish on the body with an Azure Metallic finish on the back and sides, along with all of the appointments Gretsch fans desire—nickel “G-Arrow” control knobs, white binding with black purfling, gloss urethane finish, pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays, vintage thick plexi pickguard in Azure with Gretsch logo and Gotoh locking tuning machines.

Let loose the fury and power of rock with the G6118T Players Edition Anniversary with String-Thru Bigsby—big sound meets elegant style.

    $2199 usually

You won't sell it if you don't say how much you want for it. Price?

Maybe its just me but i dont think this is really Gretsch Talk content. This is a guitar shop quoting standard specs on a production run guitar. This is really just an ad to draw forum members to the website. Am i wrong?

Well, they did place the ad in the Commercial Seller's area. Like several of you, I found the "serious inquiries only" combined with no ask price off putting. A lovely guitar, but how would one know if one was seriously interested without knowing the price?

On a side note, they are using Rosewood Fretboards now? My 2015 Anniversary has an Ebony fretboard (love those). Just curious.

Always a clever way to sell things is to make it tough for the customer.

I own one of these. Got it from Rocky, price was clearly marked on his website, wty. info etc. Made a phone call, he made me an offer I couldn't refuse, couple days later I had the guitar.

You know guys, one of the forum's rules is "Don't diss the poster, the price, or the product in a 'for sale ' thread. "

Without a price it doesn't qualify as a "for sale" ad. It's simply advertising.

Seems to me the words “For sale” in the original post are what make it a for sale ad. I could be wrong. I frequently am. :)

Then it's either an auction or "make an offer" ;)

I don't think we get to make up these kind of rules. An auction item or an item for offer is in fact for sale. If we don't like how someone sells something, we don't have to buy it.
