I know there was an RIP thread for Adam Schlesinger but I found a clip of him and Mike Viola performing "That Thing You Do" as a duo, for just two people, they make a lot of sound.

    Sad Loss.

    Awesome

  4. Its very catchy. I was impressed with the movie because they were able to create that sound and energy from scratch. If they flew back in time, it would have been a hit then too.

I enjoyed it as well. The song fit the period well. A bit of realism from the movie was that at the beginning, the band was using the same basic instruments and gear that we all had---Silvertone, Danos, etc.. As they got bigger, they started getting better Fenders and a Rik. All of the mikes were period as well. I appreciate attention to detail. I can always tell how accurate things are by the mailman uniforms (my Dad carried the mail in the '60s).

They really nailed that era's feel on this cut, R.I.P. Adam.
