Hello all. I am Jason "The Yostinator" from Utah. I have many guitars but have never had a Gretsch. I have wanted one for a quite awhile. I have my eye on the g5445t double jet. Does anyone know if this model is manufactured in the same factory as the Squier Classic Vibes? I have a few CV's and they are amazing. If they indeed are, I will buy one right now

    Willkommen, Jason.
I have no idea where this guitar is produced. Many knowledgeable people around here. So there is a good chance that your question is answered.

Some of the Gretsch Electromatic models are built in Korea by the Samick Factory, as far as I know...

Post a clear picture of your instrument's serial number (back of the headstock) : it may tell us more about him...

    A+!

    Welcome to Gretsch-Talk Jason.

I've never thought about whether Squier CV guitars and Gretsch Electromatics might be made in the same Chinese factory. Maybe someone will know.

Squier CV's are built in China (by one helluva talented crew) The Gretsch I have my eye on is made in China as well. I have come to find out in another forum that Squier CV's and VM's are built in a different factory than the rest of the Squier line. Based on the price of this Gretsch g5445t being in line with the price of Squier CV's and FMIC's ownership of the Gretsch brand, I am really hoping they are produced in the same factory. Here is a pic from SW. ~Not my guitar.... Yet! ;)~[IMG][IMG]

In the picture above, the S/N° starts with CYG, this should mean a Chinese-made instrument, in the Yako factory. G probably means "Gretsch" ?

My 2015 projet has an absolutely flawless finish, but quirky pots and a cheap bridge. Nothing that can't be sorted easily for 20 quid. I realised how good they've become after playing one back to back with a Duo Jet. It's a struggle to find where the extra $2000 is hiding.
