After seeing Steely Dan, I was thinking of a good tribute band name and came up with Bodacious Cowboys. Sounds cool even if you don't know Steely Dan's music, but also appeals to the rabid fans who'll recognize it from Gaucho. Show Biz Kids would be good too.

Obvious ones would be Sultans of Swing or Brothers in Arms for Dire Straits.

What ideas can you think up?

I like our very own AC/DC tribute band's name, AD/HD.

I always wanted to do a Gin Blossoms cover band. Would call it Not Only Numb.

A Cheap Trick band would definitely have to go by Dream Police. Or a Cars tribute--Moving In Stereo.

My favorite concept cover band idea has been a Metallica band dressed up like the Electric Mayhem called Pastor of Muppets . I'm sure someone has to have jumped on that one already though and I'm not really a fan of Metallica so...

As a Faith No More fan and Gen X-er, Midlife Crisis seems like a good tribute band name.

The best named AC/DC tribute I've heard is bluegrass band Hayseed Dixie.
I figure a good name for a death metal/ska/reggae band would be Apocolypso.

I have a friend who plays in an all-male Hole cover band. They're called "Pole."

They once played a double-bill with an all-female Weezer cover band. They were called "Sheezer."

I know another guy whose band plays country versions of Bon Jovi songs. Their band name: "Ban Jovi."

One of my favorites and I've seen them a few times is a band called " Almost Queen "
Another one I've seen ( OK I'll say it ) who put tears in my eyes .... was a band called " The Fab Four " and the guy who introduced them was spot on too as he told us we were in for " a really big shoooow "
Can anyone guess what 2 bands are my favorite of all time ..... :D

BAAB could be an ABBA tribute band.

Err, I’m gonna get flamed for saying this but I really wish that tribute bands weren’t a thing. There are some good ones though. Some with great names.
