NGD. Midtown Custom. First Gibson I've owned. Usually a fender guy and always swore I wouldn't own one.

The tone is really smooth and it plays like a million bucks.

When a Gibson is right it's a great guitar. My 335 is a perfect guitar and I've used that guitar more than any of my other guitars.

Yeah, I always felt the same way. My twin humbuckering was always covered by a Yamaha SG2000.
Recently, played an LP with proper PAF replicas set up properly.
I think a lot of us have only experience of Les Pauls of the 70s and later, where they had overwoimd, ceramic loaded and 'entombed in wax' pickups that were too close to the strings - all the ingredients for a harsh, muddy metal monster.
Like most guitars, really, if they're set up properly, they're all great... I've learnt recently that people in the know, set the pickup heights in a similar way to how you'd get the best from a Filtertron - lower the pickups a little, raise the poles and find that balance wherel it sounds the way you want it to.

That's a beauty, by the way. I think middle age must be kicking in - I've been having urges towards a 335 recently.

Gibson acoustics are some of the best. A Gibson slab with P-90s is a thing of joy.

Is that a true hollow body or semi? Looks similar to the ES-339. Beauty.

The old ones are the best. I played many at the factories in Tenn. None stack up to the older ones. Now that is just me.

Beautiful! I'm a sucker for ebony and pearl. Looks like a comfortable size too. Classic '57s?

Lovely Midtown -- I'd like one of those. My best playing guitar by far is a Gibson Les Paul Special -- the magic plank. Wonderful neck and two great P90s. Everything you need and nothing you don't.

Congratulations Aaron and it is a beauty. I was the same and always said I'll never get a Gibson after years on the Strat and then jumping on the Gretsch train. Now I have a '97 Gibby Firebird, '14 LP Traditional and a Tokai and Edwards LP clones.

I've wanted a Gibson CS 336 for a while but the funds always keep finding their way towards something else for the house instead of fun.

Enjoy and play it in good health!!!

Very nice, congratulations. How's the neck profile, like a 60's slimline? I believe I have the same pickups in a 335, Burstbucker 1 and 2?

    Same here.

    - I'm a trebly, bright guy -- no Gibson for me.
    - I heard horror stories about Gibson quality control -- no Gibson for me.
    - I heard grown men cry over Gibson shoddy customer service -- no Gibson for me.

But then I saw a blowout sale on a Limited Edition finish on an SG...just $800 brand spanking new, with case! I took the Gibson plunge and found out all that I read on the internet regarding Gibson was wrong. The guitar is a work of art. Gibson does things right.
