I haven't posted here in a while, though I'm definitely a Gretsch fan. I have just received a new Double Jet from CME and it's way better than expected. I bought the Double Jet because the color scheme was something that I really found attractive and I figure that it would be a good guitar to mod. For upgrades, I bought a TV Jones Powertron for the bridge and HiLoTron for the neck and a B7 with Vibramate. The B7 and vibramate didn't work out, but this guitar is incredible. From the fit and finish to playability and sound, this thing is just superb. The binding is especially well done and the finish is far beyond what I would expect in a sub $500 guitar. I have plenty of experience with blacktop filtertrons and usually replace them with TV Jones, but they work so well with this guitar that they are staying. Anyway, enough with the gushing, I just thought I would share.

Sharp - the color and tailpiece give it that 50's look , or surfy, I dunno but I like it. Looks almost like some sparkle in it.

I’m now officially having a massive sulk that I can’t buy one of these.

Congratulations on a very fine looking Jet!!

Aah, the first owner of the "Poor man's Broadway Jade Pengiun/Jet" ... congrats. Don't forget, that it needs a white trussrod cover matching the pickguard. The TVJ mod is already a pretty good idea.

PS: A further tempting mod would be a Duesenberg Les Trem.

Love the colour and small headstock. As Aymara said, a Les Trem would be a nice addition, it‘s easy to install and totally reversible without any holes. Works great, I‘m glad I put it on my 2622.

Congratulations on your new Double Jet msc! The color is beautiful, and as someone who recently bought a Pro Jet, I understand the comments about quality level. Enjoy!

Well, I tried a Les Trem II and like it a lot with this guitar. I love the feel. Thanks for the suggestion.

Am thinking of doing the same thing. Do you find the trem hardware gets in the way of the controls though?

You mention a Les Trem... I was seriously considering one for my double jet. Do you know if it will fit? I figure a Bigsby should swap in no problem, but I read about an issue in the original post where he had a problem installing a Bigsby. Any advice appreciated. I am still very new, but I really love my guitar and I know the color is a love it or hate, but I love it. I probably could not get my money out of it, so I figure I will keep it and make it what I want, starting with a trem.

I love the Les Trem. I am worried it won't work on mine. Looks like a perfect fit for yours, though. I have trem envy.
