Hey folks - here is the demo/review of the Jet I mentioned doing! Enjoy ~
Great review! I was just on another forum talking about how these pick ups have gotten a bad rap, sounds great in your review!
If you own a 5220, do yourself a favor and replace the bridge, it really is a piece of junk!
My 5220 didn't intonate well (first position chords sounded really bad) until I replaced the tune o matic bridge with a Gotoh "GE 103B-T and what a difference! The Gotoh bridge was only about $25 bucks on Ebay and worth every penny, ha!
Hey @jackfossett ,
Welcome to G5220 club !
You can go even further :
Thats a stunner! Where did you get the pickguard and the Custom Jet plate?
Thanks @jackfossett !
It's custom-design-DIY made :
Sorry the pics inexplicably don't want to display...
I can never see this one too many times. So nicely done!!
I enjoyed the demo, but the G5220 comes with Broad'Tron pickups, not Filter'Trons (3:30).
10-4 ~ just noted that in the comments
I picked up on that as well. I have the same guitar only in casino gold but love the color in the video and of course hcsterg's.
Awesome review. Very cool. thanks for sharing.
Nice review Jack!
You played the guitar well, and showed it's ability to cover a nice range of sounds. Personally, I was unaware of a Gretsch's versatility until I started playing my Gretsch for a wider range of songs (I was practicing some songs and was too lazy to change guitars). Clean up the pickup info, and you've got a good video with information that everyone thinking about a Gretsch should know.
Sound’s great Jack! Did you use any effects other than reverb while playing clean?
