Nothing worse than expecting a pickup to need replacing,, then finding you like it! Well why not, the GFS foils will be interesting to hear too. This sounds great though.

These Hot Rail Humbuckers ain’t bad at all! They’re a lot hotter than all of my other guitars.
The Gold Foils will be fun to try, but I’ll keep these just in case I decide to switch back.

I ditched 'em as I thought they were a bit 'rock' for me. But that'd probably be true of most humbuckers apart from the ol' TV Classics. I just find that there's so much to explore in the world of single coils. Just put some 51 Nocasters in a Tele and can't stop grinning

Can't remember what garage punk song the clip here reminds me of. Slow song, nice exotic mystrious sounding guitar intro....I'll get it. Damn ear worm

I hear ya there! Humbuckers have never been my thing.
I’m a slave to my Filtertrons of course, but those are different beasts than Gibby style PAF’s.
You’re digging the nocaster pickups? I haven’t tried them. I’d like to someday.
I have TV Jones Starwoods in my tele.
The neck pickup is a BEAST. They’re what TVJ calls hybrids. Dearmond style slugs in a tele pickup. The neck pickup really does sound like a mix of both.

I will check out those Starwood pickups, I'd never considered them. I got bitten by the Nocaster bug having borrowed Kirk Brandons guitar when we supported Spear of Destiny. I arrived without my guitar, kinda long story. So I sat down all night as his strap was way longer than I likes....and I fell in love! That sound has haunted me ever since so I got hooked up with some pickups last week and love them. Dunno if this link will work, its from a pal faceboook page

Nice. It has a Neil Young - Dead Man Theme vibe to it.

I was hoping someone would pick up in that! That’s one of the best movie scores in my opinion.
If you can’t get Ennio Morricone to score your western, call Neil Young!
