For all you football fans, sorry, soccer fans, how are you enjoying things so far?

Well we had Spain scoring 3 goals against Ronaldo who replied with 3 goals against Spain and the England team are not too confident of going far beyond the group stage if this cartoon by Matt is indicative of their way of thinking.

I advise all you US soccer fans to follow the tournament on TV in anticipation of the 2026 World Cup which will be hosted jointly by USA, Canada and Mexico and will for the first time include 40 competing national teams ........ and if that's not World Cup madness then I don't know what is.

It's a shame such a wonderful sport operates under such corrupt organizations.

I wonder if it will even be on TV. I'm sure people will be interested in 2026.

I want all my US friends to adopt Australia (since they will be looking for a team to support) and support us against France tonight.

I think we will cop a drubbing so we need all the extra support we can get :)

Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it's much more serious than that.

    Iceland held its own!

Sadly, Peru seemed nervous and lost.

That's just an easy cop out that Americans often use because they can't concede that football is far more popular globally than any of the sports they made up so they can 'world champions'. :p

It's like saying you don't like music because of the banjo, or you don't like food because of cabbage.

Says a man from a country where they wear body armour to play a version of rugby you stop every 15 seconds for the other half of the team on. :p

Personally as a Scotsman I can’t wait for England to get knocked out.

I spent a few years in London in the 70s during the most dire years for English football so even though I don't follow the sport so much all these years later (and in this northern North American football wasteland) I still have a soft spot for England every 4 years.

As a North American, I didn't know ABE with the Scots was such a big thing though I guess I should have known.

Although I am not a soccer fan, I will have a nice barbecue tomorrow and watch our German team (as most of the other non-soccer-fans over here will do) keeping my fingers crossed for them.
It is our national sport and the Germans took a lot of pride being world champions one more time.
(Last time had a mentionable sides-aspect: The family next door consists of 5 lovely Brasilian ladies. Grandma, her younger daughter and an older daughter with her two charming little girls. After the Brasilian national team lost their match against the Germans we had to dry some tears...)

Sadly, The U.S. will not have a team this time, but No matter what the competition is always top notch and the drama and competition of The World Cup will be on display.

I usually root for U.S. ,Holland or Croatia, I like the Underdogs.
