As I said, most of mine would be cliches, and if over-used and time-worn are the criteria, so would be the majority of the ones posted!!!

A Polish aphorism: "Not my monkey, not my circus."
I've seen it redone with pigs and farms and other variants. The idea still holds.

As an engineer, I always remember this one:
Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you realize that the pig is enjoying it!

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

When arguing with a stupid person, make sure they are not doing the same thing.

I dont know if that is universally true, and argue it's more of a cliche. I can think of one item in a bush worth two in the hand . . . .

At times, I am so pithy that it pithes people off. :)

My version of “perfect is the enemy of good” is “better is the enemy of best”.

Another favorite, which I proudly claim as my own is:
One benefit of investing in fine Whisky is that if your investment does
not work out, you can drink to your losses.

"The perfect is the enemy of the good."

I always heard it as "The worst enemy of good enough, is better."

My grandma always used to say:

Life is a two way street.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

    Grandpa used to say:

Don't bring a knife to a gun fight.

Keep your mouth shut and and they'll think you're a fool, open it and they'll know it!

    Dad used to say:

Do is I say, not as I do (Is this an aphorism?)

My family was full of people with pithy sayings...
