Email sent .... oh the anticipation
Guns and arrows, in the modern age, were preFMIC. The tuners on this look like Sta-tites and preFMIC tuners were G brand asian.
You're just trying to give us something new to look forward to since Tony's guitar finally arrived, aren't you???
I sent an email about 4 hours ago .... nothing yet ( came off the road to check for you guys ..... back to work for now )
Could be that's your answer! No reply = fake.
Although I never cease to be amazed at the non-responsiveness of Craiglist sellers.
...... and you know darn well I asked if it came with a case But I must say that ever since I bought my G5422G-12 FSR 12 string in natural / blonde ... the natural / blonde color on a Gretsch is very appealing to me . Just something about it ... classy look IMO
Looks like Gibson volume / tone knobs to me too
How about a jack plate?
My guess is it's a salvage job. Have a hard time believing it's a fake. So many aspects look right that I don't know why someone would make a fake of a guitar that never really existed.
Oh I will ask if he ever gets back to me
Why a tension bar bigs on a 6120 body? What about those tuners? The f-holes look strange too. On a closer look even the body shaping looks odd, you can also feel the superthick polyacryl coat even from those pics and why should there be a Gretsch prototype with Humbuckers? That thing is fake for sure and darn ugly.
Almost 12 noon on Tuesday and still no reply ..........................
That’s disappointing. I was so looking forward to more input on this. I guess a highly experienced Gretsch prototype collector must have bought it already
Ha!! Yes, I think it's likely that the ghost of Fred Gretsch dropped by to place his signature by the F-hole (not sure if you guys know this, but they named F-holes after Fred), then spirited it away to his shelf full of other, er, prototypes.
Well , sorry guys , no email as of yet ( 8:40pm ET ) I'm disappointed too
