It looks like a mini Barney Kessel? Gene Cornish played one in The Rascals. It has a nice, vintage sound; I'm sure that the Gibson '57 Classic pickups help. Beautiful, sunset glow finish.
About $999 compared to the Gibson version that is $6K+ (!) The finish reminds me of this Shengze/Bad Cat guitar's Tokyo Sunset finish:
I really do like the look of the guitar though. Always have. Beautiful. And the feature set on this is quite nice[don't know about that switch placement though]. Nice that you get 57 Classics and a US Bigsby.
Whoops, I take it back. The guy in the video appears to be wrong according to the Epiphone website. The Bigsby is a B70. http://www.epiphone.com/News/Features/2017/Epiphone-Ltd-Ed-Johnny-A-Custom-Outfit.aspx
One of the few pointy or Gibson guitars that I'd be interested in. I'd also be concerned about the break angle.
You don't often see an electric guitar with a case and ebony fretboard at $1000. Didn't realize these are 25.5" scale.
Love the looks, too bad it's not a Gretsch. But, put in some TVJs, rip out two of the knobs and maybe it's a good one! (On a serious note, does any one really need separate tone knobs?)
I was actually thinking about this as I often like to adjust the bridge tone but not the neck tone. With the switch, it is easier to see where I'm at but with the tone knob, I often forget and have to quickly reach down and crank the tone. I've been thinking about either having the tone apply only to the bridge or separate controls.
