Egnater fizzled

    Update.
    The dropping resistor was burned out, hence zero signal. Tech is replacing janky fuse socket and dropping resistor for $90.
    If the dropping resistor was going bad slowly over time before it finally conked out, then that might explain the generally crappy dirty tone of the amp recently. I think. I hope.

    Brian sounds like your Father and my Father grew up on the same street. We owned and operated Service stations and a Body shop for over 40 years. You could change out suspected bad parts with other good parts with no results other than to make your wallet thinner. Many times the correct person can save you a lot of money, frustration and time.
    Let's face it, replacing a good part with another good part, is too expensive mbkri looks like you made a wise decision.
