Luckily for me it's INSANELY overpriced so I'll likely wait for used later in the year. Not that that's stopped me before, but...

Y’all see that as insanely priced? $2k? I don’t. That’s what you’d pay for a nitro finished top shelf Tele or Strat with custom pickups from any boutique builder. Usually more. I’d say $2k is fair. Of course we all WISH it was less..........I WISH nice Gretsches were less too........ ;)

It's a beauty but it needs a maple neck to really set the gas into me.

Everybody needs a Tele. Having said that, the MIM Teles cost 1/4 to a 1/3 of that posted Tele and the quality is outstanding

Plank of wood with strings. To be honest I would buy a MIM, play the hell out of it upgrade as needed or funds became available, and pocket the other grand. To be honest they do not thrill me. I own two strats. They collect dust. But you cannot tell me that it compares with building a hollowbody. I just think American Fenders are way overpriced considering many of those Mexican workers travel the few miles to the california plant.

    American made Eric Clapton strat

I agree for the most part. As I said, MIM Fenders are very good quality. I do own one American Strat, and it was worth the money. The first artist series Fender produced, the Eric Clapton Strat. I love that soft V neck with the rolled fingerboard and I even love the Mid boost. Having said all that, what gets played nonstop right now? Yup, da Gretsch:D

It looks nice but I'm happy with my $400 mim Tele.
I retrofitted everything....vintage correct tuners, compensated brass saddles/bridge and Limited Original Fender Tele PUPS and a mint greet pickguard.
For under $700 it plays great, holds tune very well and sounds very vintage.
I even picked up a chrome ash tray cover for it which looks really cool but hinders palm muting so I don't ever play with it on.

I see it, and I love Lake Placid Blue, but luckily I'm GASed out right now. (If I were to buy a LPB Fender guitar now it'd be a Strat. I've long been obsessed by David Gilmour's sound. Or maybe Jaguar without all the switches.)

I was really working my way toward a ‘58 AV and then this happened, to my frustration. I fell for the AO LPB, but really, it’s a Tele. I have two double-bound T-partscasters, and I have to say...I’m good for now.
