Actually, yea. All of my nots on my pots and machines are oriented the same, my jack nuts are always oriented such that a flat surface is down, and yes, I do a similar thing with my pickup pole screws except on my TV Jones pickups which I leave per the factory.

Doesn't everyone? I always thought it indicated a high level of organization and artistic symmetry.

Can you please take a straight pic so I am not looking at it on a diagonal?

But I have a friend who probably would if he was a guitar player. Thank goodness he's a drummer.

I do like having the arrows of my G Knobs to all point in the same direction.

And if the guitar is on the stand, I have to move the Bigsby arm so I can see the Gretsch logo on the pickguard.

Dude, everyone knows the magnetic field has more mojo when the screw heads align. It brings chime and cream to the tone friend.

I suspect that a lot of us have a bit of obsessiveness in our nature, but fortunately, not to the level of pathology. OCD is one of the more treatable behavioral disorders. They have developed some very effective techniques based upon counseling and controlled exposure to the triggers for obsessive behavior. As I understand it, OCD is basically an anxiety disorder and by exposing a person to the sources of their anxiety under controlled circumstances allows them to reach a breakthrough point where they can no longer sustain the energy required to support that anxiety. After a number of such sessions, many people experience a profound improvement.

Ironically, my obsessive nature about lining things up just so was reduced dramatically during the years I worked on aircraft for a living. I learned that effort put into such things wasted time that was better used for safety of flight items.
