It's going to be yellow with TVJ P-90's. Suffice it to say, I can't wait!

The guy sure knows what way is up...and had no idea he completely makes his own necks...body yes, necks no...congrats on what will be a beautiful Delisle....maybe one in my future, although after looking at TVs, one of each sure would be nice..

I debated long and hard between the two (TV's and de Lisle), but was so impressed with the service and attention to detail on the Nickel Box that he built, that Jer got the nod. That, and the fact that there were way more options to have it built exactly like I wanted. I'm sure that either would have been great, though.

Maybe I need to....nah, what I really need to do is learn to play the ones I have, but both sure are beauties and how can ya beat the TVs? ETA?

Not sure on the ETA. Probably mid to late January if I had to guess.

Thanks for the kind words, gentlemen :)

    January is looking good.

Here's the obligatory shot of the unglued neck joint hanging in mid-air. Live, without a net :)

I need to hit your site Jer and look for the sound clips, she must be good and the pics are very tempting, havent bought my christmas present yet and was planning on buying a set of powertrons for the duo-jet, changed my mind on the dynas, so after I pull that off, I will be getting in touch, maybe work out another payment plan with you and look for a eta in may or june...

So far, that guit looks like it could take a ground-zero nuke and laugh it off... Then play in tune with no tweaks.

Thanks for the pictures. I would be awesome to see this thread continue, step by step as this beauty comes together. I know it would give me a better understanding how it all comes together! :D

That sounds like a plan, Dan. I have to build another one shortly anyway, so you might be able to have a hand in that. Shoot me an email and I'll fill you in on the details.

Thank you Big Burly, mikante and Sarah. I'll forward pictures to Mr. Smith so can see them first.

    Yep, we're getting closer.

I did a little more shaping on the neck after that picture and finished the toggle switch hole on the back.

Bryan picked out Hipshot Grip-Lock tuners. I had been using their bridges, but I had not tried their tuners. They have an 18:1 gear ratio and a screw-in bushing that looks like it will do a really nice job of keeping the shaft from flexing.

That big piece of brass is our string ferrule block. It will sit under a Hipshot hardtail bridge.

Just need to round over the edges on the body and carve the tummy contour. Then, it will be ready for finishing.

I really like the style of this particular single-cut. It reminds me of those killer old Supro Ozark guitars.

    Thanks all :)

Big Burly: Someone else mentioned echos of Supro. I see a resemblance, but the cutaway was actually inspired by this :D
