Hi guys... Just bought a 05 G6128. First thing I searched the internet for, was how to intonate this roller spacer bridge, and it brought me here. I immediately found threads about the Compton bridge.. and pinning the bridge. So.. I think I want to go that direction... But...

http://www.comptonbridges.com is offline.. it says for 6 weeks... Does anyone know when the 6 weeks is up?

    Thanks...
    Dean

Pops (Mr Compton) is a member here-- workknot.
PM him and see how long he'll be down.
I think there's a thread about it if you want to search

I should be back online in about 2 weeks from now, getting my inventory replenished.

Search the forum also for True Arc and ABM 2400 and check out which of these three you would prefer.

Tonewise these three are the best options, but all have pros and cons. Intonation wise the ABM is the best choice, but playing comfort is best on the True Arc.

Wait for the Compton website being available again to check out the sound samples of different metal choices and in the meantime read different opinions about all three ... all have their fans.

I also have a plan going to make more bridges for the 5425 and 5435 that have the 6MM bridge pin holes and the bridge is set at a sharp angle from the bridge pickup. I call it the ZigZag but need to come up with a name that is not trademarked?? These guitars also have a slightly different hole spacing center to center, not 2.9" like most.

I have a 5435 and the 12th fret intonation on the A string is a little flat. The saddle is as far back as it can go so I'm wondering if one of the new Compton 5435 bridges will help or not???

    Thanks!

If it's flat, the saddle needs to go forward.

Thanks, that's what I thought but it seemed like the only way to sharpen it was to go all the way back. I'll give it another try.

I'm tempted to try one of the Compton bridges whenever he finally comes back on line.

    Best,

    Tony

I always exaggerate to make sure I have it the right way. If you could move the saddle back a foot, the note would be way lower. Likewise if you could move it all the way to the fretboard, it would be super sharp

It's all sorted now, thanks Englishman! I wasn't using your clever logic because I was thinking only in terms of string tension and not string length. I guess length matters :D

Website is back up but not quite functioning properly on my iPhone. No soundclips available. Anyhow it's good that it's back up.
