I figured I would see if someone had one they wanted to get rid of before I buy a new one and chop it.

    Email me at michaeljosephsegui@yahoo.ca

    Cheers,
    Mike

I love me some chopped B16, but Eman was spot on for chopping the less expensive B5. I think the B16 looks cooler, trust me I have both chopped and normal B16 guitars, but it is expensive. I bought used but I had to sit and wait for some time.

I do think the B5 is more solidly mounted. Once you remove the forward screws, all the strings rest on two flimsy screws that aren't that far from ripping out the top. I also hate to remove so much of that pretty aluminum. This is how I chopped mine, it still has the two top mount screws and also locates the bridge and keeps the total look together, IMHO.

The chopped B5 mentioned. I also drilled a hole under the spring cup for an additional screw, it works remarkably well (IMO).

You’ll have to post more of this guitar. It’s gorgeous. The Cats Eye looks absolutely perfect on it too.

You know that a B16 equipped Telly needs an angled neck?

... too many concepts in my mind, never enough time, hardly ever enough disposable money...

But - a Bigsby-Tele of one or the other kind is on my list!

Ah, okay, you’re talking about Tom Gibson...he mailed me some impressions of his latest builts today. Great stuff! The neck pocket on my Thinline‘s also got an angled neck pocket. No chance to A/B it but I‘m sure it also sounds better!

8E328F46-120F-4E56-9E13-08DA7EDA9A80.jpeg Anybody here ever replace an existing b5 with a b16 on a tele? Mine works great, and after adding the callaham front roller and a mustang bridge I’ve had nary a tuning issue
However, I’ve thinkin’ about a B16 a lot lately. I’m sure there will be a few leftover holes visible, BUT my b5 is the “F” model that’s not as wide as a regular b5.
    Hmmmmmm

Just put this on my Super Chet, loved the fixed arm but it was to long and in the way. Now it's dead on. IMG_5688.JPG IMG_5689.JPG
