I'm hoping for it soon to become 4:1, in favor of the Gretsch marque. I love the sound of Guilds with their brand of mini humbucker, but I don't care for the four-knob control set.

Anyhow, there is another Gretsch deal brewing, which will round out my collection of Chet Atkins models, nicely.

If anyone here wants some, it's yours for half the price shown on the site, plus carriage at cost.

Sorry, though, Synchro, the cost of shipping it to the US would pretty much double the overall price.

It's a cool idea Synchro, but what would I do with the other 40+ cases

I'm down to about 85, give or take a dozen. I try to buy them without cases if I can. I have cases to fit just about everything.

I would imagine that just keeping them in strings is a challenge. :)

Seriously, I buy them 20 packs at a time. Mostly Gibson Brite Wires because they sound great and last a long time. The ones I play infrequently get a pack per year and the gigging guitars get a pack every two or three months, depending on use. Nice thing with the Brite Wires is they last long enough to permit this kind of schedule and still sound good.

I've bought a few ten packs in my day, but that's it.

I did leave my guitars out on stands, well, 3 of them, but since I got the new puppy Ive decided they need to be put away.
I think I need that, and my wife might be happy because it will keep my crap neat.

That would be good. Puppies and guitars don't mix well.

One of the best things I ever did was to put up slatwall and hang my guitars.

Long and McQuade has a decent deal where if I buy 9 packs I get the tenth one free. It matters when you buy a dozen ten packs per year. :)

I tried to put up a wall and hang my guitars but it looked like East Germany in the bad old days. But with guitars.

I won a whole bunch of Gretsch Chet Atkins strings a few years ago. I probably have 40 sets.

There are decorative forms of slatwall that String Swing sells.

LOL, I won about 30 sets of 010s at the round up in Kingston a few years ago. They were pretty good strings, I may even have a pack or two still around.

Your wall looks terrific. Where do you keep the rest of your guitars?

    HAHA

I have probably about 30 sets of the 11s. They are excellent strings with great longevity.

On most of my guitars, I use Thomastik flat wounds and replace the top three strings much more often than the bottom three. Those flat wound lower strings are nearly immortal. The only exception to this is my Tennesseean, the red guitar in the foreground of the picture. It has round wounds on it.

That is an incomplete picture of my guitars. There's a Godin Nylon Duet, a Gretsch 6120 DC, a Guild T-400, two basses and a Melobar lap steel, just out of frame.

It truly makes things look a lot more orderly. Besides that, I have them indexed to the positions of the guitars hanging above, which makes finding the correct case a lot simpler.
