I love my new 6120-55, Love the gold hardware, I am liking the idea of a Gold Armrest on it, Can anyone direct me? All I see is , it is for Penguins, so what about the big 6120? Anyone? Thanks in advance! MK

From what I’ve read when I was thinking of doing this people use an 8” banjo armrest and modify it to fit

Please elaborate. This is a mod I've considered for my G5435TCG to push it that much farther over the top.

Irritated my forearm. I left it on for one session. I have holes in my guitar.
I'd say to give some time trying one out before doing it, i love how they look too.

I've often wondered about the utility of the armrest... I feel like the extra size of a hollow body makes it a natural arm rest without the need of another device. You ever played a Gretsch for a long time then gone back to a standard size solid body guitar...? It feels like a child's guitar.

Great suggestion. Maybe Velcro for trial. Glue comes off unlike holes.

I have a leather armrest on my tele. Serves no real purpose, but I think it looks really cool.

Yeah maybe try some of that thick double sided tape. I've been wanting to try. I think I'd like the deep of cold metal over sticky gloss.

Maybe my wording was off. I meant Velcro to attach the metal armrest initially to see if it’s a definite like. Wouldn’t need but two small pieces really. Then mount it permanently once 100% certain that it’s a go. I’d rather peel sticky glue than have a holy guitar if I didn’t like it.

Armrests are great for banjos and mandolins from a utilitarian standpoint... not so much for guitars though.

@panhead6zero tooled the guard and armrest for me. Instantly made this guitar the coolest I’ve ever seen.

Just a thought, find a store that has a Gretsch with an armrest and play it for awhile an see if you like it before you change yours.

It feels pretty good to me on my CC. It takes the sharp binding out of your forearm n gives ya a smooth round. If you rock your guitar low ala Page, Slash or Zakk it doesn’t help much but looks cool. I like em on the Penguin. But @ bellybutton
    Or higher They feel good.

That's what I've put on all my guitars with armrests, I learned that trick on the Reverend forum back in the day before they started selling em.
