I just realized Gretsch did a FSR Aleutian Blue G6228 this year. I’m sort of surprised the good Doctor @drmilktruck didn’t jump on these.

I still remember your great G6228 review. After becoming Gretschless :( this year, it’s a contender if I go Jet for my next Gretsch. This blue is just a little out of reach at the moment unless I sell another guitar.

I think they are literally the PERFECT bridge for the Les Paul player who wants the Gretsch “thing”. Or the Gretsch player who wants the Les Paul thing. Either way......it’s a highly capable and versatile guitar that feels great in the hands.

I have one (G6228FM) and am always shocked at how light it is when I pick it up. Mine is the bourbon stain but that blue is very pretty!

I don't doubt you one bit but it is shocking how low a number that is and speaks to how rare certain guitars actually are. I have a FSR G5435TCG (gold hardware, Cadillac Green) from Long and McQuade in Canada.

I have a few guitars from FSR runs which were 16. Back in 2007 one of my guitars was part of an FSR run of 13.

I think FSR just means Factory Special Release, which is not the same as a Limited Edition, it just means that particular color or model is only available at that retailer. Sometimes you can find a different FSR at Sweetwater than what they have at Guitar Center, for example.

@GlenP Maybe the FSR number is left open initially and depends on what the store that ordered it can sell. A few other stores are selling this one. But Guitar Center is big enough they likely own a few we don’t know about. It seemed like Wildwood had numerous FSR’s a few years back and I recall them being around @audept number of 13 or 16.

Even though they’re built for playing... It’ll be interesting to see which of today’s FSR runs are highly sought after as collectible in 30 years time. I easily see the recent Ltd Edition Red Sparkle Jets in that department, as well as a few others.

Most of my FSR run guitars came from Streetsounds NYC. I used to think that FSR might be decoded as "For Streetsounds Rocky"

Nice color! Reminds me of a pair of pants I used to have in the 80’s when I was cool

Ding ding ding. We have a winner. I was waiting to see who would comment on the stop tailpiece first.

I would prefer a Bigsby or Caddy tailpiece but these don’t bother me. The V looks better to me than Gibson style ones.
