I'm paying for wood. I'd rather see that then paint---especially sunbursts. YMMV.

In the days of my youth... my favorite natural electric guitar, an ES-175. Photo is circa 1972 or so. My only photo that I have from my early music days.

I still have the Pignose and the Champ. Stupidly, I sold the Gibson and the Fender-Rhodes. Should have ditched the amps and kept the ES-175. Errors of youth.

    Smith-Corona is long gone, fortunately.

Does Butterscotch Blonde qualify as natural?

I was a blonde from about ‘78 till around 87, then i tried it again in the 90s for a while. I thought it rather suited me...... but i dont think i fooled anyone i was natural.
I think butterscotch deserves its own thread. “The favourite sweet to eat when the gods go on long car journeys” perhaps?

I was thinking about this question myself, you could totally put butterscotch in a yellow thread, but if it's transparent enough it still seems natural to me. Same w/ other "sweetened" woody colors & some bursts for me. Not my thread though... :)

Here are my current mostly natural instruments:
    1975 Guild G37 w/ a K&K Trinity:
    Guild OM-240E:
    Guild Jumbo Jr. Bass:
    '70s Guild B-301:
    G&L monkeypod Doheny:
The Astrocaster, a Warmoth roasted swamp ash body w/ tru-oil finish & raw roasted maple neck (can't get myself to finish up the actual guard for it & sand back the oil finish, grain fill, & re-oil yet, probably my favorite all around strat I've got though):
The Entomopter, Warmoth mahogany thinline body w/ a dusting of light mahogany & aged clear toner & maple neck:
I've got a Yamaha FG730S & a German made Hofner student classical as well, but I can't find any pics of them.

Edit: LOL, Forgot about my 1st natural finish guitar (& 3rd guitar ever), the stripped & cleared '63 Jazzmaster (it's got Staytrem bits & cream amp knobs now):
& this one's been up on the block but too cool not to share IMO. '77 Gretsch 7628 Committee:

thinking about getting a black or tortoise pickguard for the GreTscH, just seems like that goes better with wood grain.
