It is no secret that I am a man of poor impulse control. Therefore, given the state of Airline travel in these times, I've concluded that the prudent man will make sure he has a back-up Jet. IMG_6755.jpg

Where's the Bigsby arm ? Looks like someone took a hacksaw to the handle and cut it off

Hence the very reasonable price. No evidence of a hacksaw. Mainly the arm and pin went for a walk. Cannibals? Trust me. This will not stand!

She plays nice. Haven't had time to figure out the year yer but it's not super recent. A bit heavier than the current ones, and no blacktops. Sounds pretty good but the bridge pup is oddly set up, so I'm going to play with that a bit.

So what are those if not blacktops? Forgive my Gretsch pickup history ignorance.

They appear to be some sort of stock Filtertron (no expert) but I did own a Jet a few years back with Black Tops and deese don't sound like dos. They sound kinda like TV Classics with a mild to moderate cold. This may change when I apply an Atomic Brain. Stay tuned.

So, minor update. If I've researched the tea leaves correctly, this puppy was made in China in April 2017 (I've had good luck with MIC) and, I am befuddled, but the PUPs do appear to be Blacktops even though they don't very close to other Blacktops I've played. Maybe modded? Maybe a whoopsie? Maybe an act of industrial sabotage? Pepsi Syndrome? Can't blame it on the Corona Syndrome... or maybe I can! Do they sell Coronas in China? IMG_6760 (1).jpg Anyways, thanks to the kind heart of Thunder 58, I hope to be posting pictures of a resurrected B50! Stay tuned.

So I am pretty much sure most of you have not been losing sleep over this, but my new-experienced back-up jet has been to the hanger, received some mechanic love, and voila! A re-emerged, intact and functioning B-50! (See original post) Thanks to my vast selection of colorful language, and the generosity of the fabulous and remarkably handsome Thunder58, my jet is once again whole and airworthy! Yay! It's nice to be able to say my whang is up and at 'em. THANK YOU THUNDER! IMG_6826.jpg
