A Telecaster. For saying that now I have a Telecaster.

I took delivery of a Squier Classic Vibe 50s LH Telecaster "crafted in Indonesia" this evening, at my good pal's local music shop :

OK. Now I have a Tele. Pour dire d'en avoir une, voilà...

The Sales rep. told my pal that the new Indonesian CV50s "were a tad lower in quality compared to the previous Chinese-made ones"... o_O

OK. This is good enough for me and for what it is. Moreover, it's a "free deal"...

    I am thinking about a 3-swappable options for her : "Esquire", "Normal", "3-PU"... :)

And maybe one day, I'll add a Bigsby B5...

    Wait and See ! ;)

    A+!

    Thank you Guys ! ;)

I made a quick sound check with my beloved (yes !) Roland MicroCube a few minutes ago : I must say that the tone is very good as is, right out of the box, without tweaking - much better than the 2009 MIM I had in the past...

OK, the strings are 9-42 or 10-46 and I can't play with less than 10-52.

At the first glance, the finish seems to be flawless.

As usual on LH, the pots are wired backwards. Moreover the pickup selector is a junk - all this is not really an issue for me.

Well, by the way : what brand of "serious" Tele PU selector would you recommend ? CRL ? Other ?

Thanks to let me know ! ;)

    A+!

I love the Esquire look, but it will never work for me....I don’t live on the bridge pickup on my Tele.

Think about the tones you are after first, that should drive your pickup configuration issue.

    Congratulations, Esquire for the win!

The ‘50s CV Tele was my first Tele 10 years ago... I’m afraid to do a head count now haha!
It’s interesting they have returned the CV almost to the same price point as 10 years ago. You know they will have compromised somewhere...

    Congrats!

My vote goes to the Esquire version.
I‘ve made best experiences with CRL switches and Switchcraft pots.

Congrats on your TELE. They are a wonderful beast to play.
What a strange thing for a rep to say about the quality of the product he is selling.

    Thank you Guys ! ;)

Well, the drop in quality doesn't seem apparent - I personally see nothing wrong at the moment, except that defective PU selector (easy and cheap cure). But OK, I never had the Chinese one in hands to compare...

About that, I noticed the selector brands CRL, Oak Grigsby, Hosco and Fender to be dependable.

Maybe this CV50 will reconcile me with Tele guitars... ;)

    Yes, it's what I will do, @new6659 - no hurry ! :)

And thanks for your pics of the Chinese one, @thunder58 !;)

Congrats! Everyone needs a Telecaster, at least one.

Switches ... I used a Fender fiveway Superswitch on mine, a 4P5T... But I doubt this is necessary very often. To me, continuous blendability of two parallel pickups is worth a ton more than serial connection, I probably wouldn't wire it again like it is.

But, anyway - congrats on that one, hope it works as good as it looks!
