I bought a G5420T about back in March of 2018.
I have been browsing these forums for info off and on ever since and it has been helpful - so thanks!

I haven't been playing guitar for long (a tiny bit back when I was a teenager) and now I have been playing for about a year and a half in my late thirties. I mostly play my acoustic. It's a good mental health break to make some good noises. I'm improving slowly but surely.

I finally read enough online to give the Gretsch a good set-up and now that I've done that I see myself playing it much much more. There was way too much relief and the action was way too high when I first got it.

Love the Gretsch vibe and sound. I look forward to gleaning information on maximizing the performance out of my 5420T and possible upgrades and customization options. I just ordered a Tru Arc bridge and I'm excited about that. It'll be about a month before it arrives because of the Christmas rush on sales.

    Thanks for the good info.

    Welcome to Gretsch-Talk claypainter!

I completely agree with your statement that playing a guitar is a good mental health break. Of course, there are those moments when I can't seem to get something right.:D

I have a 5420, too, and it's a very nice guitar. I assume your 5420 is the one in your avatar, but seeing a larger picture of it would be great. We love seeing each other's guitars, and that would include your acoustic. :)

    hello and welcome
a guitar is better than meditation. you can forget everything and concentrate solely on the sounds flowing out and loose all track of time and earth.
