I got a kick out of this.
Wow, There are some absolute shockers in there.
His description of the reverse flying vee, was my thoughts exactly.
That's a pretty good video . I remember the gimmick by Volkswagan
is it wrong that i like the look of the volkswagan guitar? sorry!
No , not a bad looker at all . Wonder how it played ?
i love the looks! if it plays bad nothing a fret level cant fix? there is one on ebay for £95 hahaha
I love that look too... Again, I'd be pleased if it existed in LH - I'll do a search...
Those are not bad at all, about as nice as a Affinity Squier.
The one VW guitar I've played had a pretty good feeling neck to me. Electronics were garbage IMO, but all of the VW hardware bits seemed pretty nice quality.
Still it would have made alot more sense IMO if they had Fender/Squier make it for them since they had Fender branded stereos in the models you got one with IIRC.
My very first electric guitar was a First Act, because I was just wanting to dip my toe into the electric world. After all, I was an acoustic guy to that point, and I had to work hard to even call myself a guitar player. I guess I just didn't feel deserving of a better guitar yet (yeah, I know, a quality guitar that's easier to play will make you want to play more, but I didn't understand that yet).
It sure had some down sides, but I wouldn't have put it in the "horrible" category. I didn't really know anything about modding back then, so it just was what it was, and eventually I did move up in quality, but it wasn't a big upward move yet. My first Strat was when I really started feeling like I had become a guitar player.
Wow. That video was awful.
At first, when it showed up, I thought it was Brian May's guitar. But I guess not.
There was a First Act Custom Shop at one point in Boston. They were trying to move up, away from the toy store stuff. I visited it once. Guitars looked okay and played all right, but very heavy. They even had a few pro endorsers.
First Act Custom Shop---there's a contradiction in terms if I've ever heard one.
I kinda like the reverse V! Not enough to get one, but if someone gave it to me I’d try to rock it !
I actually like the look of the VW too. Sounds like it could be good project guitar so long as the neck is good and playable. One can always gut and replace the electronics. The lack of comments and expression on his face with regard to the reverse Flying V actually made me laugh out loud.
There were some shockers and some that I completely agree.
I think he meant to say “controversial” rather than “confidential” in the beginning.
That's what i thought the reverse V was going to be!! Lefty.
