shouldn't my BSHR be a 6120 not 6121
Whoa... really strange. That has to be a misprint.
That raised the cool factor if you ask me. If only it boosted the value as a collector piece. Sort of like coins, stamps, and collectibles that have misprints.
Yeah, the 6121 is a Duo Jet ( or Roundup)
This photo is neither a Duo Jet (model 6128) nor a Roundup (model 6130)... although the modern reissues have been given the "Round-Up" moniker just to make things confusing. This photo is a 1958 model 6121 (Chet Atkins Solidbody)... a real one!
My bad, it's my 6121-1959, at least, I thought that was the photo I linked... and I certainly won't argue with EB about Gretsch!
Many listings of the 6121-1955 have the Roundup name attached even though it doesn't have the leather et al, as you said, probably a modern thing.
As owner of a few Duo Jets, the 6121-1959 is as Duo-Jetty as any I've owned, maybe just a little nicer.
Duo-jetty. Thats a new one. will place that with “off to the Jettery!”
Ya but mine goes to 6120...1
