I just amazes me ... July 20 , 1969 . I was 10 and 1/2 ...that 1/2 was still big in my neighborhood . We watched in awe as man walked on the moon on our black and white T.V. Imagine , 3 antennas around the world to monitor Neil Armstrong , Edwin " Buzz " Aldrin , and Mike Collins . It still amazes me . And now , we hold these little devices in our hand to communicate and keep up with the world .
I watched the landing on a black and white T.V. with my sister in here room ( she was the oldest of the 4 of us so she was lucky to have a T.V. in her bedroom ... times have changed .. ya think ?? )
So where where you and did you watch it ?

Same here - I was 7 and 1/2. Watched it on a BW television but for some reason, I recall it was in school. Must have been a summer program?

I was in my parents TV room, glued to Walter Cronkite's coverage. I was 17 & I knew this was something incredibly historic. I recall it was evening on the west coast.

I was 14, and my family all watched it together. It was indeed an incredibly historic moment.

Missed it by a month and a half, of I'm sure I would have been glued to the TV.

I watched it with my dad, seven and a half years old... I remember the President's call because I was blown away that you could talk to the moon by phone! We had a phone! Dad took a picture or two:

I was minus 3 years old but I did spend the first half of the 70s being obsessed with space... I had a kids telescope when I was three!

I was 3. I don't think we had a TV yet. We definitely had 2 years later for the 1st Ali-Frazier fight. Dad woke me up at night. I think I fell asleep after one round. Imagine the snooze fest that musta been.

I had just turned 13, and had been obsessed with space flight almost the whole decade.

One of the three TV networks (NBC, maybe? I preferred NBC's coverage of the space program) was showing 30 straight hours of coverage culminating in the landing and man's first walk in the lunar surface. I was determined to watch every second of it. It started at midnight of the 19th, I guess, and I was on the couch in our living room, for a while the only person in the house that was awake. But not for long.

    I fell asleep by about 1:30. :p

I was twelve years old and we were visiting my grandparents in Clayton New Mexico. We watched it on their little 19" BW TV. I thought it was amazing then and even more amazing now.
