I don't think so. The first coat of Truoil needs to bite into bare wood.
That's true but this is a Musikraft neck- thin lacquer sealer from MK, then coated with a thin coat tinted nitro.
Thanks, I‘ve used TO several times, but it won’t help a sticky nitro finish...
Exact same here. I don‘t think there’s a satisfying solution, I guess I‘ll have to swap it for another roasted maple neck.
Not in this case, the neck was sprayed a year ago :(
I‘m so in love with the roasted maple on my TVcaster, it‘s not to beat.
I‘ve sanded the nitro finished Musikraft neck on my Esquire with soft 3M wool to a silky surface. It feels superb when you touch it but it...
Closet clean is nice, authentic and tasteful:
He‘s playin Ron Ellis pickups in the Tellys...surprise surprise.
As mentioned in the other Julian Lage thread ;)- he jammed with Santana at the age of eight! And by the way, he‘s a very nice and sympathetic guy!

Thanks Dennis, I leave it as it is. You don‘t need anything else when you‘ve got this ultimate guitar tone from position 3 ;-)
It‘s a bit of guitar nirvana ;)
I‘m a big fan of Julian. That is a 53 jet with a new neck (repaired by Gretsch in 1958).
E/A is Aluminium, the rest are made of brass.
Here she is- the 1953 Esquire Hot Rod:
Gotoh SD91 tuners
Callaham string retainer
Tusq XL nut
Musikraft neck, 3A flamed maple
Yes, arrived today
Okay, I‘ll keep it
Thank you! And your opinion on the neck?
That‘s true. Decisions, decisions. Yep it looks nice, no question and the neck itself is superb like a MK neck should be. On the other hand it...
