      Hey,

I do certainly hope it works out for ya! Like I said, it's been three years since I did the swap and probably a year and a half since I last owned the guitar, so I apologize if I supplied you with any misinformation.

      Regards,
      Tom

      Hi Tom,

Well I went to a luthier today, who does guitar jobs for me, today to mount the B6G on my country club but after removing the G tailpiece and willing to place the B6 we've noticed that the strap button hole can not be used for the B6G. It's not in the right place if you wanna place the B6.
I had to leave the guitar there so he can fill the holes and drill new ones which means also drill a new strap button hole. Well I leave that part of the job to people like him.
Apparently, a Bigsby B11 would have the same hole pattern as G tailpiece but that Bigsby is a lot shorter.

But I think I'll stay with the B6G, fill the existing holes and create 4 totally new and hope it all works out right.

      Best regards,
      Gerrit

      Thanks for the reply, Tom.
Well, that's what I thought too about using the strap button to align the (new) B6 tailpiece.

      Best regards,
      Gerrit

It's been about 3 years since I did it, but I don't remember having to drill another strap buttn hole, just the three smaller ones. In fact, if memory serves me, I used the strap button to align the new tailpiece!

      Regards,
      Tom

      Hi carbo,

I have one more question about replacing my G6196's G tailpiece by the bigsby B6G.
As far as I can see, the strap hold knob hole in te guitar can be used as well for the G tailpiece as the B6 , I guess ? And the only new holes to be drilled in the body are the 3 mounting screw holes with the dimensions of the B6 ?

      Greetings from Belgium,
      Gerrit
