Default Gretsch "Southern Belle", Mod. 7676

Need Your Advise please:

I could recently buy following Gretsch Guitar in excellent condition (looks as new):

- Gretsch "Southern Belle", assembled in Mexico, Mod. 7676
- Serial No. 8-3037
- Pic's here: www.goldenguitars.ch/gretsch.html

What is the correct age of this guitar?
What is the value?
Somebody interested in this guitar?

Regards, Edi

The correct model number is 7176, but that Southern Belle does look to be in pretty good condition. However, the biridge is wrong. With the exception of the logo on the pickguard, this is what is should look like:

The B-12 Bigsby is original, but they had the bent "wire handle" and as I mentioned, there is supposed to be an ebony bridge base under an "Adjus-O-Matic" bridge. It appears as if the current owner has pinned a pre-FMIC roller bridge without the base plate. Those things are minor and easily fixed. Howeer, the neck joins the big 17 inch wide body at the 18th fret. If possible, view it, hold it in your hands and play it to be certain you actually like the guitar for you. You're going to be playing it. so be sure it's the right guitar. Remember it isn't worth anything either - it's NOT a collector's item. This will give you a better and honest idea of what an good condition "Southern Belle" is worth:
