right i think i understand the wires are cable tied together but i guess if i had tubes they would be easier to replace

thanks tara hoping to get mental on it as soon as i go back to uni and get it finished in a few weeks colour scheme has changed from when we last spoke though

i made it mate designed them on my computer and then laser cut them out

thanks, i would love to do it for a living but not convinced i could make enough money to support the wife and 3 kids!! im training to be a design and technology teacher and im gonna do this as an extra source of income if all goes well plus i love doing it think im gonna do pickguards pickup surrounds etc as well as gretsch stuff is a pain in the ass to get hold of in uk

not finished yet mate on temporary hold, i underestimated how much work it is doing a teaching degree and looking after 3 little monsters and building a guitar at the same time  hoping to get it back on track in next few weeks watch this space

hold the front page!......... beatnik has done something on the jet build
lol nothing major in terms of progress but its a start, finished my teaching placement last week back in uni now so still ridiculously busy but managed to squeeze some jet time in today,
Ive now got the fingerboard radiused to a point that im happy with it, its been holding me up (perfectionist  ) and decided to get busy with the inlays, rather than go down the mother of pearl route i decided id use bone to match the nut (inspired by randy parsons) one thing i can tell you now is camel bone isnt too bad to work with but it really stinks when ur cutting and grinding it and i mean really stinks but im pretty pleased with how they came out
heres the customary pics, inlays arent in the fingerboard yet just placed on so u can get the idea

The slippers are the same shape as the thumbnail bone inlays. lol
