I know what you mean, with that pattern, it sure would look cool with either A or B and having a clear coat over the top of it!

here it is solid

and with the cutout sporting a shiny compton (i know the thumb wheel screws are too long but this base is going to nickyboy for his jet as his is playable now mines a way off so ill trim the screws to his taste)

Looks brill mate. It'll give my jet the extra mojo value it needs!
I reckon there'll be a few of us commisioning builds from you in the not too distant future.

apologies for the lack of progress over the last few weeks, one of my dogs died and i was a bit behind with my uni work (too much guitar build not enough course work gettin done) so ive had to concentrate on that hopefully should be able to get some thing done in next week or so
a tiny bit of progress for you, i finished the sanding block and radiused the fret board, still needs a bit of fine tuning, a bit of advice if anyone has the bright idea to save £15 on buying a radius sanding block and plans to make one themselves, DONT! put that idea out of you head pick up your wallet and part with the money, i spent more time sanding the block than i did on anything else ive done on the build so far if doin the same sanding motion for hours is your idea of fun do it otherwise either buy one or make a rig to do it on your router
also ive bought the piece of maple that will become the top piece nothing much to look at but heres some pics anyway
the sanding block, radiused fret board, and maple

update time managed to get a bit done this week, decided to get the top piece and neck moving, so i planed and thicknessed the top piece plank down to half inch thick, i then cut two lengths and glued and clamped them, let it dry over night and rough cut the body shape, then i decided to rough cut the neck, the neck is the bit i was most worried about doing but i think it looks ok, its a bit longer and wider than it needs to be but i want to shape it down to fit the fretboard once the truss rod channel is sorted and the fingerboard attached, the headstock is angled as per jet standard
top piece
more pics coming
