Ol' Ford Truck
Here's an original tune (well, not very original but I wrote it.) It's a strange foray into classic country. Different for me, a rock 'n roll guy. I must be getting old. I hope you like it.

You know what happens if you play that song backwards?
He gets his house back, his kids back, his dog back....
Great playing!!!!!

Thanks. I thought it said, "Satan is good, Satan is our pal..." and in the second verse it says, "Kill everyone, pull the trigger...Paul is dead, Paul is dead..."

Not my bag, but your recording technique and performance are spot on. I like the whistling at the end of the tune...Now, I would like to hear your R&R recordings!

Thats a real sitting on the back porch with a beer and the old faithful hound kind of song, what did you use to record it on? I've a Boss BR900cd that i can just about fathom out, but it's sounds are all geared to the metal end of the spectrum.

Thanks Guys. Cowmoo, it was recorded with Cubase. The instruments are a Seagull S6 Cedartop Acoustic, an Epi Casino with Gibson P90's, a Gretsch Country Club and an Epi Viola Bass. The amps are a Super Champ X2 and a Deluxe Reverb RI. The mics are a SM57 and a SM58. The slide guitar parts were done with a chrome slide on the Country Club and the little lead lick in the intro was done on the Casino.

Ahh Cubase, I've heard some pretty good stuff recorded with that, I've seen it being used, but when it came time to decide which avenue to take, I went for the more manual boss unit. All those graphs looked confusing to me, and I'm too impatient to learn.
Now the Boss has become tired, with scratchy pots and noisy sliders I should have taken the Cubase route. D'oh!

A lot of folks are intimidated by Cubase but it is actually pretty easy to use once you learns how to work it and it has some great tools. You need a pretty decent computer though.

A reasonably new computer should run it without difficulty. It needs Windows 7 and a reasonable amount of RAM. The machine I'm using cost about $450 CDN. Cheap.
