I don't know Pete, those ceramics sound Damn good. I have a 1996 6120 with the same ones. I don't play that well, but the tone is definitly gretsch.

They are sound really good. My main reason is the feedback. I am positive that I would be able to do the same or better sound with the TVs. (If not, I will put these back...)

I'm not sure they will have the same BITE or Grit. Ceramic pickups behave very punchy like. They have more of a power up front, very dynamic for picking. TV's will be amazing, but I'm thinking they will sound CLEARER, (not transparent, but w/ more note separation, more highs. So your probably going to ad a bit more gain/boost to your signal, but maybe you will like the smoother attack of Alnico.
Either way your killing it right now, so if the TV's aren't your thing, I would look into Bridges w/ the proper string spacing for the filters (even tho being right over the poles doesn't mean that much anyways)

I don't know why you need new pickups! Feedback will be an issue with a full hollowbody forever. If the TV's are wax potted and your ceramics are not, that might help. But dang, don't mess up a good thing! I enjoyed that!

I am positive that I will get the pretty same sound. What you here in this video is a GT-10 pedal with clean boost, some drives, plus I am always adjusting the amp gain and the pedals output, plus a fender super sonic bassman channel. If the sound won't be the same (probably it won't), or being cleaner, I will add some more drive, more boost. I have pretty much the same sound when I use a Tele with Joe Bardens DG T Style. But Joe Bardens extremely clean and defined pickups.
Here I don't have the GT10 yet, I used different stomp boxes.

It's pretty much the same sound range but this is in Sao Paulo with an unknown Brasilian amp.
Ok, de Gretsch is Gretsch but I think I can mix the same ceramic-like sound out from TVs without feedback.

Its not about how they sound. Its how they behave.... ceramic magnets are simply different than alnico. There is a punch, or more touch sensitivitty. Just about pickup construction and why they use different alnico alloy materials and ceramic materials. They behave and change overall smoothness or how they react to harder picking vs softer, even down to how your master volume control taper. But hey im just a humble guitar tech in Lansing Michigan.

Honestly, I am nervous a bit. But for the worst case scenario, I will put the ceramic back and sell TV. (But I doubt...)

Well another thing I thought about was some Compression. Some compression would help pull that ceramic FEEL/punch back into the TV's. The TV's are also much brighter even by Filter standards. Its just going to be a mixture of comp and gain for the grit/dynamic (touch sensitivity) you have going on in your sound. Notice how I keep saying SOME compression. lol There is a line where you just smell like your stuck in the 80's w/ too much Comp/

Good points about compression. I find that my latest, one and only Gretsch doesn't love more than a little compression. I've got an optical, a squeeze and a Keeley and all of them pump like crazy with the Gretsch if I use more than a tad of compression. I usually set the Keeley to about 10 o'clock and I get nice bit of punch.

There was a time when I used compressor, especially for country and rockabilly but later I stopped using it, I just didn't like it much... But I will try

Great for Teles and Strats as well as for smoothing overdriven Les Pauls. But this Gretsch is the first guitar I've had that wants less. In fact, I mostly don't use it!

My amp is a Fender Super-sonic, I use it on a baseman channel, I use blue groove tubes instead of the factory red. I use a very little crunch/clean sound on the amp (bass and treble at 12 o clock), because a major part of the sound and EQ is coming from my Boss GT-10. I have a TS808 modeler on it, some clean boost, plus I have my built in wah turned on all the time since I use it a lot, and I overdrive it a bit. For the good rockabilly/psychobilly overdrive sound I think we need double overdrive. A mildly overdriven amp if you have drive pedal, if not you overdrive the amp a little, and some overdriven effects like wah, or any with adjustable gain. You have to play with that. I always change something I never had the same sound for longer time
