Has anyone ever noticed how rockabilly the intro song is? It's really good.
The reverb on the guitar is awesome

Is that was the band is called? Spumco? And I JUST recently discovered Jimmy Bryant. Amazing stuff! If only he played a gretsch, *sigh*
I couldn't find his stuff anywhere, but I found a torrent of "Frettin Fingers".

further investigation reveals..

* "Dog Pound Hop" (opening theme), written and performed by Jim Smith.
* "Big House Blues" (closing theme), written and performed by Jim Smith.

Funny, I think about that R&S theme song all the time. Great little theme tune.

PS Spumco is the name of the animation company that did the series. Jim Smith was one of the animators as well as the musician. Kind of like Mike Judge played the Beavis & Butthead theme (Three weeks until they return!)

Gotta appreciate good TV theme music, even though it's edited down to mere seconds to allow more time for commercials. Non-mainstream guys with some creative control . . like John K. (R+S), Mike Judge and Parker + Stone . . make their themes a perfect lead in. Love the tone that Judge used on the original . . looking forward to the new episodes. I better dig out my threadbare B+B t shirt which says: "I hate stuff that sucks".

He seems to know his way around a Tele pretty profoundly, though!
