Default acoustic bridge anyone?

Recently I've heard talk of replacing the movable bridge with an acoustic bridge pickup giving you 3 pickups on lets say my guitar [Gretsch Electromatic G5120]

Is this possible?
What pickup do you recommend?
Is it worth it, or should you put a pickup inside the hollow body instead?

Or what the hell, maybe both the bridge and inside body haha

it could give you some extra tonal options. if you switch between an electric and an acoustic a lot during gigs, i could see how it might be helpful.

I always wonder how close to an acoustic it would actually sound though.
