Default TV Classic in bridge with HS Filter in neck?

Next week, I will be quite literally buried under a mountain of undergraduate prose. Mmmmm!!! Yummy!!! So in between classes ending and the coming onslaught, I ran away to NYC, sans famille, to visit friends. Ran down to Bay Ridge to meet Rocky at Streetsounds. A lovelier guy cannot be found anywhere. I only wish I had the funds to avail myself of his sweet deals and support his business. Though most of his guitars are boxed for shipping, as most of his business is indeed through ebay, I played a Setzer model with TVJs. I love my HS Filters, but I gotta say, the TVs seem to have even more chime.

This leads, finally, to my question. What would happen if I combined a TV Classic in the bridge of my T-Rose and (at least for now) kept the Filter in the neck? I'd get the wider spread of pole pieces and enhance the chime in the highs while keeping the slightly thicker sound in the lows where they can be an asset. I know the TVJs are "lower output." Would combining them work?

Known compatibility issue. Will cause your tenny to explode spontaneously. Not recommended.

Seriously, could be a pretty cool idea. I don't hate HS filtertrons, but I find them a bit muddy for my tastes. Definitely thicker in the lows, but seeming to lack clarity and snap in the lows that I prefer. Having one in the neck though for more mellow, jazzy stuff, and the brightness and chime off the TV bridge would be a nice combo. It would be interesting to hear the middle position with that combo of pickups.

If you decide to do it, be sure to post some sound clips so we can hear the end result.

I don't see why not. With height adjustments you should be able to obtain similar volume output from both pickups.
