What delay pedal do you use and why?
OK. I'm sure this one has been done before somewhere but I haven't located it as such. In the land of Gretches and various stripes of rockabilly, this is the place to ask. What delay pedal(s) do you use and why?
And yes, I'll understand if there's a delay in your response.

I use a MXR carbon copy cause it is cheap, simple and analog.
But there are the two big dog delays that you'll be hearing a lot about round these parts, the El Capistan and the dm-3
I'm gonna get the dm-3 one of these days. Maybe if one shows up on CL

Was a big Line 6 DL4 fan (because of the RE301 space echo model) but with a few issues with external power and drop outs and reset I have lost some confidence in it. The Strymon El Capistan looks to be the one for me now to get good tone and convenience.

Don't use it for gigs as its a bit large to join the Line6 MM4 and three other pedals but I rate the Danelectro Real Echo, great for home/studio use.
It does a great slap back echo

Me too! I was using a Fab Echo pedal, but I find the Behringer gives a greater range of settings and a really authentic rockabilly slapback. And it's cheap!

TC Electronics Flashback Delay. Not inexpensive, but not expensive. GREAT versatility for many styles, GREAT bang for the buck and small footprint

For live shows, my slapback is an Electro-Harmonix Memory Boy, and for longer delays I might use a Boss DD-7. For session work I use my Fulltone Tube Tape Echo for slapback, and the Boss for spacey stuff. I also have a Keeley modified Ibanez Analog delay that I'll pull out from time to time.

An MXR turned up as a Christmas gift a couple of years ago. It's fine — sounds good and doesn't take up much room. Prior to that I'd been using a Memory Man, which I liked a lot but it was too big and I was trying to shrink the pedal board. I also have a Rocktron Short-Timer which at present I just use at home. But if I were starting over I'd buy the new TC Flashback — the Strymon delays are terrific, but they're not cheap and they do far more than I'll ever need from a delay pedal.

MXR Carbon Copy, decent price, and great reviews. But having the power on the side means I lose at least one barrel on my daisy chain power cable. I've considered replacing it because of that.

DM3 for slapback, Carbon Copy for everything else - I placed some thick black rubber rings over the delay time knob, and adjust it with my toe between songs. Who needs tap tempo!?
With both pedals on I can get a great Shadows-stylee twin-head delay sound.

I use an MXR Carbon Copy for simple slapback and a Danelectro Reel Echo for the trippy stuff both are great in their own way

I almost got one of these, but I found a Boss DD7 on sale. 40% off. Best Buy is closing out one of their Musical Instrument departments up here in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.
