Best delay with Nocturne
Okay, I'm GASsin' for the Nocturne but I want to pick up another delay pedal as well. I have a Boss DD-3 but it doesn't do enough. I'm looking at the RE-20 Space Echo pedal but wondering how friendly it is with the Nocturne.
Any thoughts or other suggestions?

Tavo the genius behind the Nocturne has said, and written nice reviews on the Boss DM3. I bought one because of what he said. Best delay I have ever had for Rockabilly.

Well, I too have been wanting a Nocturne, but, my delay of choice is a BBE Two Timer.

My old Ampegs have sweet Accutronics reverb tanks built in, but for anything more complicated, I really enjoy my MXR Carbon Copy.
Don't have a Nocturne (yet). ToneQuest never ends....

no genius here heck ya the DM-3 is soo great! crazy for em (i do keep an EH deluxe memory boy on hand though for my Floyd & U2 stunt playing.. I usually end up injured)
yet it appears you can use one of those re20 digi-emulators and great
a great sound w/it into a nocturne appearantly as this video shares. Josh Bradshaw did this demo
with his gretsch, nocturne, roland RE20 into a blonde bassman sort
of amp he built. His tone is quite impressive. Good video footage too, better than my dumb videos.

I've been using the BBE Two Timer. Sounds pretty good to my ears.

This is in NO WAY a wise-acre remark - I'm honestly curious... what delay wouldn’t work well with a Brain Seltzer and why? Is there such a thing?
Someone tell me now or I'll blow this whole place sky high. Don’t test me... I'll do it!
See, that WAS a wise-acre remark. Get the difference. It’s subtle, but there.

Thanks for the suggestions - wish I could try them all out!
As Crooner has asked, why wouldn't any delay work well with the Nocturne - I guess my only answer is that sometimes pedals in a chain can do weird and sometimes wonderful things that you simply don't expect. And I was looking for what people thought might be the optimal pairing for tone.

The Nocturne is a great pedal! I use mine with an MXR carbon copy for the slapback and a holy grail for a little extra reverb....through a '66 bassman head and vibroking cab with 2 v30's. Sweetness.
