dont pick up a carbon copy YET, I'll be getting the new
Electroharmonix "Memory Toy" tomorrow and put it up against 2 boss dm-3 pedals from the 80s. I am an analog delay slut and have tried to own all of them at one time or another.. This little bomb is the child of a Deluxe Memory man but looks like its built better! Its 500ms of all
analog delay with modulation and its true bypass.
...most places are charging $80 for them.

I'm gonna make another short video manana with it into my 6g2 princeton and tele with tvjones pkups(new p90 in neck and classic+ in bridge).

Very interesting. I stayed up late last night reading up on the Nocturne, as well as spending quite a bit of time reading a few of Pappy's blogs on the 5th fret...which led me to Chris Cheney's gear page...thanks Pap...thanks a lot!!

Looks to me like it's pretty similar to the Carbon Copy, at least conceptually. If it sounds as good what the hey, I'm all for saving $$$.

What exactly did I help you find, Scott? Did you see he uses your SD twin classic as well?

I was just gawking at his guitars more than anything...he really has some cool axes. I'd be seriously tempted to jump on one of his sig models if they were readily available in the US.

well it aint no 1980s Analog DM-3 boss pedal and it isnt the small brother of
a vintage EH deluxe Memory man but what it is ..is a really cool analog echo
pedal for rockabilly that cost $79! It is true bypass (3pdt switch inside) and
has an SAD571 chip in it along with scads of minaturized RC4558 opamps.
beat that! oh ya.. the modulation is cool when the delay time is set for
slapback but if you max out the time 550ms (long for such a box) the modulation
is warbly in slo mo. Almost silly since you cant adjust it like you can on the
bigger "Memory Boy"..but so what. Oh the other irritation is that the blend control
is really touchy at the 12 oclock point, go over to barely 1 oclock and then the slapback is slightly louder than the echo..which again isnt that big a deal when you
arent trying to be the Edge or pink floyd at longer delay settings.
I set the blend at 11 oclock, modul. on and the time and repeat short "bucket-a-beans" sound.
Its in the video.. but I'm still working on that as the kids were foolin around with halloween costumes and wanted to be in the video..we kept laughing and after about 5 takes it wasnt funny anymore and I started screwing up my licks..oh well, who am I fooling.. I'm dad with a guitar, not a rockstar.
try to have something soon.

I ordered the Tangelo colored one on Oct. 9th and am really looking forward to getting it. The sound clips were very helpful in deciding if this is something that will be useful.

TV: My sympathies to the gorilla, don't want to get on its bad side or maybe bad end. That sounds great, I will be very anxious to see how it sounds. From reading reviews and listening to clips, there is no reason to believe it won't be excellent.

Tavo, do you have website for sellling the Nocturne now and will you ship to the UK?

Oh, and do you have cases in metal flake blue?

Nige,
had a website along but I cant seem to update my profile at all. I enter the
stuff and it just wont budge.
anyway.. yes www.thenocturnebrainseltzer.blogspot.com
you can order there and also pay for UK ship charges. a large percent
are ordered from the UK..

regarding colors.. the metallic blue.. That was in the first run and for the second we replaced it with the "Steel billy" which is the naked alum in clear gloss with grey pinstripe. The tangelo is standard. a "gritch" orange with white pinstripe. last two are the current standard.
in kustom colors:
we have kandy apple red flake, kandy orange flake,
champagne sno-globe flake for xmas..

(the painter is always game for ANY custom color jobs but he's gonna
want full price which is what is the case on the sno globes)

I've already got the painter growlin about my
plethora of colors I have to keep it streamline for now.

ps. the gorilla has almost fully recovered and has been playing 2 nocturnes full blast at the same time with his strat loaded into a Class A 15watter amp.

Thanks Tavo, I keep diving in and out of this thread. I think I put a post on before saying that I had to get one once I had a Compton bridge. That got here today! I'll get on your website in a minute and take a look. Candy Apple Red was a favourite colour too. I like to keep the pedals looking totally different on my board and link them with colour coded leads - it's sad I know, but it means that I can just glance at the board, step on the right pedal and make sure that they're all hooked up in the right order too.
