Cool...a "cool" guitar section
Here are some of my cool guitars:
The 6120-1959LTV with my Eastman Pagelli PG2 (the first lefty made, as far as we know):
Neil Gardiner Parlor with the Gretsch:
The OUTRAGEOUS Claro Walnut on the Gardiner Parlor:
And last but not least, death by Flame Maple. The Pagelli and Hippner Classical:

I love those Pagellis. One of the guitars I intend to buy after I become a Lotto bazillionaire.

The Eastman Pagellis are very neat guitars. The problem/issue with them is they are hard to find, even in righty form, next to impossible in lefty form. I waited on this guitar for almost 3 YEARS! Because they are pricy enough that the Made in China thing becomes a deal breaker for a lot of people and the unusual design turns off many traditional acoustic archtop players, they are rare. I just did a quick search, and found one at the dealer I got mine from.
They are very comfortable to play because of the asymetric body design, sound great acoustically and sound good plugged in, and sound even better with some tweaks. On mine, it has the standard Kent Armstrong magnetic (the made in Asia one, NOT the USA version made by Kent himself), my luthier added a Fishman Matrix Infinity undersaddle piezo pickup, both wired to a stereo jack. Notice that the Pagelli has a seperate bone saddle so it's easy to put an undersaddle transducer on it. I use a Pick up the World stereo endpin preamp, which has gain/volume control for both pickups, and can sum them into a mono signal out (or stereo out using a Y cable, it has a switch for mono/stereo). The Fishman gives the sound some "airiness" and acoustic flavor, the Armstrong acts like most floating humbuckers, a little mid heavy and compressed on the high end, but nice and meaty also. So I run it about 2/3rds Fishman/1/3rd Armstrong and get a nice compromise sound between an acoustic archtop and electric archtop.

PS. I wanted to show one more photo of the Gardiner Parlor. Neil Gardner is a very good builder up in Ontario, one of the little design "flourishes" he does is the little triangle inlaid into the top, this triangle is made out of the same wood as the rosette, in this case, spalted maple. I think it is a neat design without any blingyness (is that a word?)
And just in case the dog lovers wanted to see the picture better, this is Sammie and Chester (guess who he's named after), our Flat Coated Retreivers that both passed on last year about 7 months apart. Miss em everyday!

I monitor the rather vast LA Craigslist daily, & interestingly, the only used Pagelli I've ever seen there was a lefty. My luthier has become an Eastman dealer in the last year, so maybe he'll get one in the shop one of these days. Very cool ergonomics.

Yeah, that lefty Pagelli has been for sale forever. It's listed on leftyfrets.com as well. Again, Pagelli's are out there, design wise, and only certain folks are interested, make it left handed, and you've really shrunk the potential audience.

Great guitars but those are some pretty Flat Coats! Sorry to hear you lost both so close.
