Default NGD Squier Duo Sonic

Tipped off by Sarge Rock, I went to the local Best Buy tonight. They are closing their music department and selling everything at 30-40% off. After looking at an orange Epi Wildkat and Blacktop Jaguar and a few others I couldn't resist a Squier Classic Vibe Duo Sonic. Fun little guitar at a great price.

you can't beat em for the money. some people might want to change the pickups to something less thin sounding, but i like that quality about the guitar. it gives it character.

that's nice, Jim. did you happen to check out any of their amps ? I was smart enough to buy that Boss DD7 and get out of there quick. did they have much merchandise left ? they still had a lot there when I was there last Friday.

Hmmm, I wonder if they are closing out their Duluth music department. I guess I have to stop by tomorrow.

Nice guitar, they really seem to be well made.

That's a good looking Sonic! Congratulations!
Is that a short scale?

They still have quite a few guitars but not too many amps. Not many pedals.

This one is 24 inches, the vintage ones were either 22.5 or 24 inches spending on the year and model. The previous Fender reissue in the early 90s was 22.5 inches.

It's probably a 24 in scale like a jagmaster. Similar necks.

I like the slightly older ones that the slugs sick out of the pups, and w/ the black and white motif, but Every duo-sonic I've played is a great player.

Funny you should say that Steve as I bought another Princeton Reverb, decided I liked it better than the one I got to replace it.

I've been plugged into it almost exclusively!

The sonic looks like fun. You like the pups so far?

They're okay. When I redid my 63 Duo Jet I used Seymour Duncan Duo Sonic pickups, which where very fine, maybe swapping these out for those?

i have one of the 90's duos, and a classic vibe duo, and they both have the same 22.5 inch scale length. i don't want to point and go, "YOURE WRONG", but all of them that i have played, including the one i own is 22.5.
did squier maybe have two seperate runs of this guitar, one with a 24 scale? that's the only thing i can think of to explain it.
